Sexually Transmitted Infections testing

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are very common. They are passed on through vaginal, anal and oral sex with someone who has an infection. Phone Bristol Sexual Health Services on 0117 342 6900 to find your nearest confidential clinic.

Although most infections have no symptoms, some do and warning signs might be:

  • Pain when you pee
  • Unusual discharge from your vagina or penis
  • Rashes or sores around your vagina or penis

If you have had sex, without a condom, and think you may have picked up a STI, it is important to get it treated, even if you have no symptoms. STIs can damage your health and may affect your ability to have children in future. Most STIs are easily treated.

Chlamydia

is the most common STI amongst young people under 25.  It is easy it is to check if you are infected or not. Phone 0845 180 0050 to find out where to get a free confidential screening kit.
